Mich-CA Winter Camp 2012

The winter of 2012 in Michigan has created a unique opportunity for Michigan Cricket Association USA (Mich-CA) to team with the local community in bringing cricket to the public.

Mich-CA has teamed up with IAGD (Islamic Association of Greater Detroit) to utilize the association's premises to promote cricket and attract local youth to cricket. Mich-CA thanks IAGD for extending support to this unique venture which could well propel a new wave of interest in the sport of cricket from the youth. IAGD's GYM will be the main activity center for the months of January and Febraury where the participants will be seen in action.

Mich-CA and IAGD welcomes each and every participant and their parents for this 2012 Winter Cricket Youth Camp.

Under the able guidance of one of the stalwarts of long standing Mich-CA umpires as well as being a professional cricketer from India, Dr. Mohammed Abdul Hai will be taking over the responsibility of coaching the youngsters in the basics of the sport. Some of the participants/parents recognise Dr. Hai from the summer coaching youth camps and his services are well respected through out Mich-CA community. Please find the attached credentials of Dr. Abdul Hai.

A thorough coaching program has been planned by Mich-CA which will be rolled out to the participants on a weekly basis. A number of cricket entusiasts will also be volunteering in helping and running the camp along with the main coach (Dr. Hai). Also, Mich-CA is open to parents helping the coach when there's a need.

Please be advised that a waiver form will have to be signed by each and every participant/parent, this waiver form relives the religious association (IAGD) from being held accountable for an injury caused during the course of the youth camp at the IAGD premises.

Mich-CA/IAGD requests all participants to wear shoes without spikes/studs and also no food will be allowed into the premesis of the IAGD, water being an exception.

Mich-CA recommends that each and every participant to have personal cricket kit, every effort is being made to set-up a stall at the IAGD gym from where the interested participants can purchase cricket equipment at a very nominal price.

Mich-CA and IAGD again appreciate all the participants/parents for showing their commitment and trusting both organizations, also appreciates the overwhelming response received in the form of the registration fee even before the camp has begun. Request those participants who have not sent in the registration fee to please bring in the registration fee with the registration form on the first day of the camp.
